The Ranger is a ranged DPS that fights from a safe distance with a Bow, using traps and knockbacks to control space. It is the most reliable all-rounder in AION 2.
Why play Ranger
- Safe damage — consistent single-target and AoE pressure from range.
- Excellent mobility — kite enemies while they struggle to close the gap.
- Traps & crowd control — snares, stuns and knockbacks cover panic moments.
- Great solo and farming — exceptional in open-world progression.
How it plays
Keep the enemy at range and never stop moving. Layer your traps to cover your retreat, then punish anyone who pushes through. Ranger damage is reliable rather than spiky, so it performs in almost every type of content.
Gearing & build tips
- Stack crit and attack speed for smooth sustained output.
- Keep a secondary weapon option for when enemies close in.
- Watch out for Assassins — they are your hardest PvP matchup.
PvE vs PvP
In PvE, Ranger is a top farming and progression class. In PvP, a skilled Ranger makes approaching feel impossible, though it lacks the Assassin's burst and the Gladiator's frontline pressure.
