AION 2 launches with 8 classes, each with one main weapon. Korea and Taiwan also have a ninth class, the Brawler, which is not part of the global launch.
The eight launch classes
The global classes are Templar, Gladiator, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric, and Chanter. Every class is playable by both factions — Elyos and Asmodians — and by both genders.
Roles
AION 2 has two tanks, four DPS, and two healers. Templar is the primary tank and Gladiator the bruiser tank-DPS. Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, and Spiritmaster are the DPS. Cleric is the main healer and Chanter the hybrid support.
Weapons
Each class uses one weapon type: Templar uses a Longsword, Gladiator a Greatsword, Assassin a Dagger, Ranger a Bow, Sorcerer a Spellbook, Spiritmaster an Orb, Cleric a Mace, and Chanter a Staff.
The ninth class
The Brawler uses a fist/gauntlet weapon and is currently live only in Korea and Taiwan. It is a melee DPS built around rage and active blocking. Its global release has not been confirmed. 待确认 whether global servers add it in a later update.
